About the app

One app. Your entire production.

Filmari turns your iPhone and iPad into a complete production hub.

Break down scripts into scenes and elements, build shooting schedules, manage gear lists, track budgets and keep your production organized from prep to wrap. Includes practical on-set tools and calculators so you don’t have to jump between multiple apps while working.

Home Dashboard

The central hub. Here you’ll find pinned and recently opened projects, favorite tools from calculators, converters and simulators, as well as an overview of recently used tools. What appears on the dashboard can be customized in Profile — you can build a clean workspace without unnecessary clutter.

Projects

The core of film production. A set of tools grouped around a production workflow. You’ll find tools covering pre-production, production, and overall project management. Concept: A note space for ideas, references, and thoughts about the film. No structure, just a clean space for writing. Script: Import a screenplay in PDF format, smart extraction of scenes and locations, breakdown into a shot list. No need to manually rewrite the script — the app handles it for you. Location: Location scouting directly within the project. Create, organize, and keep all locations neatly in one place. Shooting Day: Where everything comes together. Organizing the shoot, linking scenes to specific days, generating call sheets, take logging, and reviewing what was shot during the day. Gear: Every shoot has its equipment needs. Packing lists help you make sure nothing important is forgotten — whether it’s a simple shoot or a full production kit. Budget: From small projects to feature films. A smart tool for building budgets item by item: shooting, licenses, gear, rentals, transport, production costs, and more. Crew: Complete crew management. Build your team and cast, then link them to specific shooting days, scenes, and call sheets.

Toolkit

This section contains standalone tools — classic filmmaking calculators for shooting, planning, and video editing. You’ll find tools like a DoF Calculator, Battery Planner, Timelapse Planner, Aspect Ratio Converter, and many more.

Profile

The customization center. Gear inventory, codec and sensor presets for calculators, default rates for the Budget Planner — everything in one place, ready for repeated use.

Export PDF & CSV

Filmmaking is about collaboration. Shot lists, budgets, call sheets, packing lists — everything can be exported as PDF or CSV and sent directly to a client, accountant, or the entire crew.

Guest Mode

When you hand your phone to an assistant on set, you don’t want them to have access to everything. In settings, you can lock individual modules (budget, inventory, rates...) with Face ID or Touch ID. Turn on Guest Mode and the user will only see what you allow.

Privacy & Offline-First I built Filmari with a simple idea — to work even where the internet doesn’t.

When shooting documentaries or working in the field, you often end up out of signal range, so the app is designed as offline-first. All projects, data, and work stay on your device. You don’t need an internet connection or an account for normal use.

At the same time, I wanted to avoid a model where every second feature is locked behind a subscription. Filmari is fully usable in the free version. The only limitation is a maximum of one active project at a time.

If you’re working on a single film or video at a time, you can use the app for free for as long as you want. When you reach the point where you need to manage multiple projects at once, you can simply unlock a lifetime license. It removes all limits and includes future updates with no additional fees.
